Your first appearance is for arraignment, followed by Reviews, and then Trials.  If you wish to pay a fine before your scheduled court date, you may do so.  Many summonses are payable to the court in advance, and when paid in advance there is no need for you to appear at Court.  When you do pay in advance, you are pleading guilty to the charge.  A report of the conviction is then made to the Colorado Motor Vehicle Division and points will be assessed to your driver’s license.  The points assessed for each offense will be indicated on your summons.

You may make payment in person at Town Hall, 19750 County Road 31, Gilcrest, Colorado, 80623.

If you do not make it within the business hours, you may drop your payment off in the night dropbox.

If the summons does not indicate the amount due for the fine, then the Defendant needs to appear in court.

This is a “Mandatory Court Appearance” (MCA).

 

If you are unable to attend your court date, you must talk with the Court Clerk and request a continuance.  If you have continued your court date once and are requesting a second continuance, you must appear before the Judge for this request.  Continuance of a trial may only be granted by the Judge.
